On June 4, 2013 the Harrisonburg Lodge #450 presented a new Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the Massanutten District of the Stonewall Jackson Area Council of the BSA. The AED will be on hand at scout functions hosted by the Massanutten District. This was made possible by a Gratitude Grant from the Elks National Foundation. Thanks to all of the members from our Lodge that contribute to the ENF. Special thanks to Allen Baker, PER and Masterman's, a safety and industrial supply company, for their help acquiring the AED.
Lodge 450 presented 1,000 safety glasses to Massanutten Vo-Tech for the beginning of the 2012-13 Vo-Tech school year. Lodge 450 has been providing these safety glasses to the center for the past several years. Lodge member Marshall Price was instrumental in establishing this project, which has become a state wide project for the Virginia Elks Association. The VEA lodges will provide close to 9,000 safety glasses, free of charge to students in the communities of Virginia.
